    TOMMY SMITH JUMPS OF WESTGATE BRIDGE
    - school friend unsure whether he'll follow suit
    - proverbial Australian parental rhetorical question, "if so and so jumped off the Westgate Bridge would you?", now needs real answer


    My cousin Omar is the only child I know of to have ever answered a variation of that old chestnut in the affirmative – I rhetorically asked him ‘’if your friends jumped off the roof would you’’.
    His one word answer was ‘’yes’’.
    So that settles that.
